About NEUROBITE

NEUROBITE Technologies is a spin-out from the University of Glasgow. We are developing biodegradable implantable medical devices to treat neurological conditions such as stroke and Parkinson’s Disease. Our focus is to transform stroke recovery through groundbreaking technologies, aiming to reduce the need for invasive surgeries and to offer more sustainable treatment options.

Why This Matters:

  • Growing Market: The stroke care market is a rapidly growing sector. With over 1 million strokes per year in Europe alone, the need for innovative solutions is growing exponentially.
  • Scalable Technology: The potential to scale our biodegradable devices extends beyond stroke to other neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s and brain injuries.

The Challenges in Post-Stroke Treatment

Stroke recovery is often a difficult and uncertain journey. Millions of people face this every year. Despite the number of options available, many post-stroke treatments are either inadequate, invasive, or high-risk.

"

Limited Treatment Options

Conventional stroke rehabilitation methods can be insufficient and lack personalisation.



Surgical Concerns

The risk of complications from multiple surgeries is significant.



Environmental Impact

Traditional devices contribute to increasing medical waste, adding pressure to an already burdened healthcare system.

Together, We Can Improve Stroke Treatment.

Our Solution

Biodegradable Neural Probes

Introducing BITE (Brain Implantable Transient Electronics) probes – biodegradable neural probes designed to stimulate brain regions affected by stroke and other neurological conditions. This technology significantly reduces the need for invasive surgeries and improves the rehabilitation process by stimulating brain regions and promoting new neural connections.
