About NEUROBITE

NEUROBITE Technologies is a spin out from the University of Glasgow. We are developing biodegradable implantable neural devices to treat neurological conditions such as stroke, epilepsy and other brain disorders. Our focus is to transform stroke recovery and epilepsy monitoring by reducing the need for invasive surgeries and long term implanted hardware.

Why This Matters:

  • Growing Market: The stroke and epilepsy care markets are growing rapidly. With over 1 million strokes per year in Europe and around 50 million people worldwide living with epilepsy, the need for better tools is increasing.
  • Scalable Technology: The potential to scale our biodegradable devices extends beyond stroke and epilepsy to other neurological conditions where safer, temporary implants are needed.

The Challenges in Stroke Care and Epilepsy Monitoring

Stroke recovery and epilepsy monitoring are often difficult and uncertain journeys for patients and clinicians. Many current options are limited in effectiveness, highly invasive, or place a heavy burden on hospitals and staff.

"

Limited Treatment Options

Current stroke and epilepsy pathways still offer few options once standard medicines or rehabilitation reach their limits.



Surgical Concerns

Invasive monitoring and multiple surgeries increase the risk of complications and lengthen recovery time for patients.



Healthcare Burden

Repeat procedures and long hospital stays drive up costs and add pressure to already stretched services.

Together, we can improve stroke care and epilepsy monitoring.

Our Solution

Biodegradable Neural Probes

Introducing BITE (Brain Implantable Transient Electronics) probes – biodegradable neural probes designed to stimulate brain regions affected by stroke and other neurological conditions. This technology significantly reduces the need for invasive surgeries and improves the rehabilitation process by stimulating brain regions and promoting new neural connections.

Opportunity

Why Invest in NEUROBITE?

High Impact

Targeting stroke and epilepsy care, which already cost health systems billions of euro each year, including around €45 billion annually in the EU alone.

Health economics

Our transient neural probes are designed to reduce the number of surgeries and help shorten hospital stays, improving outcomes while easing pressure on hospital budgets.

Market Growth

Global neurotech investment is increasing every year as hospitals look for new, minimally invasive ways to monitor and treat brain conditions
